Evolution of my Site
My website, like pretty much everything on the web, didn't just came on the web in this form overnight. It took a really long time for it to actually take shape and become what it is now
It's very first iteration was a Bootstrap 5 website i did when i didn't really had any idea of web design and just wanted something resembling a thing, but i didn't like that at all so eventually i decided to actually make it into something with plain HTML and CSS. No screenshots of the earliest iteration of the website exist so far, although i do have a screenshot of when what is now known as the current version of my site originally started being developed.
Early Iterations
My site is still under heavy construction and i was still figuring out the many ways i could apply HTML and CSS in general, although it was also starting to take a bit more shape like for example i was working on the first subpages
I also started working on the music pages, which originally were just a gigantic set of links instead of having the much more elegant player it has now.
I did eventually started to make to site a bit prettier, and for example i experimented with customizing the buttons on my site to make them stand out a bit more
Website starts to take shape
This is where the site started having the sidebar layout it has today, at least in Desktop. Or shall it say everywhere because mobile view wasn't a thing yet ;_;. I also had yet to adjust stuff like the contrast and accessibility stuff to my site at that time, i started doing that later on when a 32-bit Cafe community member gave me a reality check when it comes to that topic one day and i was never the same.
But anyway this is where the site started to pretty much look like how it is today :3
Accessibility adjustments,
mobile and dark mode, etc
After i realized that a lot of my website's previous design choices were functionally ableist ;_;, i pretty much went back to fix that stuff, for example adding image descriptions and using alt text in a way that actually helped people who use screen readers.
I also started working on the dark mode and phone mode on my site, making it a lot more accessible to a much more wide array of people. Oh and i also finally fixed the corners inside the boxes of the page making them actually round and i finished all the missing pages in my site :3.
The site's future
My site has come really long way since it started existing, at least it's current iteration. For a few weeks i felt like i didn't had any ideas what to do with it anymore except updating stuff and adding new journal pages but i was told that i could add a RSS feed into my journal to make it more of a proper blog. I also want to experiment with other stuff but I'm not sure how i will manage to pull it off.
BTW, this site would have been pretty much been abandoned if it weren't of people like the ones at the 32-bit Cafe helping me and convincing me at keeping it alive and making it flourish, there were times where i was about to quit and leave this site in to the dust but thanks to the kind words of courage and also just me being stubborn it kept going. So thank you :3
